A Snowland Travel planning route, with daily transport, visits and overnight stops confirmed around access, reservations and your pace. Lhasa → Kangma → Gangba → Dinggye → Gyirong → Zhongba → Purang → Kailash area → Zanda → Shiquanhe → Gerze → Wenbu → Bange → Namtso → Lhasa
Planning season: May–October. Autumn colour varies with weather and elevation. Winter and snow conditions require an individual feasibility review.
Conditional planning route through frontier or remote areas. Confirm the entire road, visitor reception and overnight bases before booking. Replace unapproved sections or extend the itinerary where needed.

Meet your transfer from the confirmed flight or train and check in. Review the coming days with the team. Keep the day free of demanding visits; a short walk near the hotel is optional if you feel comfortable.
Leave Lhasa for permitted Yamdrok viewpoints, continuing through the Gyantse area towards Kangma. Explore the changing landscapes of Tsang, with time for road and meal breaks. Visits around Karola or to a monastery depend on opening hours, reservations and the day’s progress; avoid turning a long drive into a rushed sightseeing day.
Continue on the approved roads through Gangba towards Dinggye. Take in plateau settlements and grasslands, with mountain stops dependent on visibility. The agency must confirm checkpoints, permits and visitor accommodation before departure. Unapproved side roads and areas around military facilities are not part of the programme.
Use the authorised main-road connection via the Tingri area towards Gyirong, with stops at confirmed viewpoints and rest on arrival. The Zhibu and Gangga side-road sections shown in the reference are requests to verify, not promised inclusions. If those sections cannot be approved, the itinerary uses the confirmed main-road alternative.
Return to the plateau highway and continue through Saga towards Zhongba. This is a substantial travel day through changing landscapes. Plan meal breaks, fuel stops and rest with the driver in advance. Keep the evening quiet; accommodation and heating facilities are confirmed individually.
Travel west towards Purang using approved roads around the sacred-lake region. Shore access and monastery visits are confirmed locally. If visitor reception or accommodation in Purang cannot be confirmed, use an approved overnight base towards Darchen instead. No border crossing is included.
Use confirmed open lake shores and mountain viewpoints for a vehicle-based day around Manasarovar and Kailash. Allow quiet time to appreciate the setting while respecting prayer places and pilgrims. A full kora or high-pass trek is not included. Mountain visibility depends on the weather.
Travel towards Zanda and view the earth forest from open viewpoints. Keep to protected roads and walking areas rather than climbing fragile slopes. On arrival, confirm the next day’s Guge visit and overnight arrangements. The journey introduces the landscape as well as the history of western Tibet.
Visit the permitted areas of Guge to explore its kingdom history, architecture and Buddhist heritage, then continue to Shiquanhe. Follow all photography and access rules and protect murals and structures. Specific interiors are not guaranteed. Rest on arrival before the next long road stage.
Continue across the northern plateau on approved roads towards Gerze. Enjoy grassland and lake scenery only from safe stopping places. Confirm road, communications and lodging arrangements in advance. Wildlife sightings are incidental: never chase animals or drive off the authorised road to approach them.
Use confirmed roads towards Dangra Yumtso and Wenbu. Respect the lake’s religious significance and village life, asking permission before photographing residents. Wenbu overnight reception must be confirmed; if unavailable, use an agreed base towards Nyima. This remote stage may need an additional night if road conditions slow travel.
Travel via the Siling Tso area towards Bange, stopping at permitted lake viewpoints. Stay on designated roads in protected areas and keep away from wetlands and nesting birds. Water colour and wildlife sightings vary with weather and season. Confirm the following day’s Namtso access with the local team.
Visit the confirmed open part of Namtso and return to Lhasa as roads allow. North-shore side trips such as Shengxiang Tianmen require separate access confirmation; the standard plan uses permitted lake shores. Allow for delays and do not connect this long road day with a departing flight or train.
Keep a weather/road/health buffer; if unused, discuss Norbulingka or short cultural visits.
