Connection plan
As a key Qinghai–Tibet Railway starting point, Xining works well with arrival the day before for rest, station checks and travel documents. Board at the actual ticketed time, then arrange Lhasa pickup and rest rather than strenuous arrival-day visits.
Planning sequence: origin, train, Lhasa
- Before departure, check city, station, date, service, berth and total duration; multi-day journeys must not be counted as a single day.
- Bring the original booking ID and Tibet documents for your status; allow time for security and manual checks.
- Follow staff instructions and rest onboard; not every plateau landscape is passed in daylight.
- Rest after Lhasa pickup, then add Lhasa culture, Yamdrok, Tsang or Everest according to health and permissions.
