Documents & organised travel
Foreign and Taiwan travellers need agency-organised approvals and routing in the Tibet Autonomous Region; independent unpermitted travel is not offered. Other documents and border routes require separate checks.
Timing & original documents
Provide complete documents at least 20 working days ahead, or one month for Ngari/Kailash, allowing the longer period. Approval is not guaranteed. Carry originals for flights/trains under our preparation policy and reconfirm checks.
Altitude & walking
Review sleeping altitude, walking, drives and medical access, and discuss health concerns with a clinician. Report illness, do not ascend while unwell and seek help for severe/worsening symptoms.
Transport, stays & luggage
Check stations/airports, connection buffers, berths, rooms, heating, hot water, remote facilities and baggage rules. A class description does not replace property-specific details.
Costs, insurance & personal needs
Review inclusions, payment and changes, and check insurance for region, altitude, walks and evacuation. Discuss allergies, mobility and family needs early.
Etiquette & photography
Respect worship and local life and ask before photographing people. Check drone registration, transport and airspace permission; do not launch independently in sensitive/restricted areas.
